Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt

BY I. KhiderPublished Jul 1, 2001

Down-tempo sequenced rhythms with piano breaks and guitar notes that have an almost improvised feel, in an adult contemporary kind of way. It seems that some producers these days are exploring the potential market of electronically informed easy listening music. This is an album of gentle, pleasant melodies, though Coleman does explore more up-tempo sides. The main consistency on Everything... is its sunshiny mood and better than average sequencing, with quirky digressions. Everything Was beautiful... is safe enough to play for children and elders.
