Booked

High-energy debut from Texas oi-punkers the Booked rises above the usual trappings of the genre with a healthy injection of melody. Thirteen songs covering the stock subjects of drinking, fighting, being working class and the like. The meathead mentality of the lyrics runs like an assembly line through this. In a way, you have to give them credit for not caring about what people think and writing songs that the average schoolyard bully would take to heart. This isn't for everybody, but if you dig the chanting, whoa whoa stuff, you'll get a kick out of this. They even reworked the Fleetwood Mac song "Someone's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight" into one called "Riot At 811."
