Cadence Weapon's plans for the rest of the year just keep getting bigger: after mapping out a West Coast tour with Super Duty Tough Work just last week, the rapper has announced the forthcoming release of a deluxe version of his 2023 album ROLLERCOASTER, as well as a Toronto residency at Standard Time.
ROLLERCOASTER (Deluxe) is due October 4 via MNRK Music Group. "These songs further expand upon my exploration of various elements of technology," the artist born Rollie Pemberton explained in a statement. "I worked on 'Surreal' with Raf and Joe from the 2 Bears at Hot Chip's studio in Shoreditch. It was the first song that pointed towards following a larger concept for my album and I'm stoked for people to finally hear it."
He continued, "Joe [Goddard] also contributed a heavy remix of 'My Computer.' The other songs show different sides of me that aren't really present on the original album. 'Scam Likely' is unlike anything I've ever made before. Tropical vibes. 'Clickbait' is some of the hardest trap music I've ever done. I hope these songs add more depth to the project for everyone who listens."
Over four weeks in October, Pemberton will host The Entertainer with Cadence Weapon — a residency that will see conversations and live performances from prolific entertainers in the contemporary music industry, including Lido Pimienta, Owen Pallett, Jacques Greene and DEBBY FRIDAY. The nights will close with DJ sets from the rapper, as well as guest DJs Greene, Brendan Canning, Jeremy Greenspan and Automaticamore.
