Aside from being the name of a prehistoric herbivore, Indricothere is the brainchild of Colin Marston, guitarist for Dysrhythmia and Behold
the Arctopus. Much like his Arctopus output, this solo project pivots upon its inherent technicality, but with an inhuman drum machine programmed to face-melt speed like a prog Mortician without vocals. "II could be mid-career Morbid Angel in an alternate universe, while "V mixes the doomier vibe of Daylight Dies with the speed of Internal Bleeding. Book-ended by prolonged, Earth-like chords, "IV is chock-full of Opeth/Yes riffage as played by Meshuggah. If "I is a spasmodic Cynic workout, "III is a Ritalin-addled conflagration of Sunn0))) and Mattias IA Eklundhs Freak Guitar. This self-titled album is five dense tracks of shred thats part death, part tech, all brutal, exploring dark realms that dont fit into the genre-specific vocabularies of Marstons day jobs.
