King Jammy meets Dry & Heavy

An impressive recreation of early '70s dub reggae composed recently by several Japanese musicians but mixed and mastered at King Jammy's studio in Kingston, Jamaica. The musicians were faithful to the original skank, reverb and mental intoxication you've come to know and love from the likes of King Tubby and Lee Scratch Perry. If it wasn't for the liner credits, one could easily take these tracks as having been found in some long forgotten vault. A whole array of instruments are featured on King Jammy..., drums, bass, keyboards, guitars, flute, a horn section and vocals that blare out as if they were preserved from Desmond Dekker-era recording technology. If one isn't too bothered by the fact that the source of the music is not authentically Jamaican, or the fact that this is practically a historical reconstruction, you will realise that this is one phenomenal first-rate recording.
