Old Man Luedecke

Even from the balcony, far from the stage of the St. Matthew's United Church, Old Man Luedecke managed to create one of the most intimate-feeling shows of the festival so far. Charming the excited room with his disarming, genuine demeanour as soon as he took the stage, the Chester, NS resident warmed the cold, rainy night with his anecdotal songs and banter set to banjo and, occasionally, acoustic guitar. A new song about a post-bar, fast-food drive-through transaction he witnessed in Calgary exemplified his uniquely humble insight into humanity, once again making it impossible not to become absorbed in his sweet narratives and songs.
