After turning in one of the most well-conceived and largely slept-on records of 2011, with musical love tale A Sucker For Pumps, L.A.-based rap duo TiRon and Ayomari return with members of their growing Cafeteria Line collective for a broader stylistic exposé on the appropriately titled Hngry. Taking the opportunity to showcase a more aggressive style that the concept confines of the previous effort didn't necessarily allow for, the dexterous twosome let their exceptionally fluid flows rip on cuts like the cocky "Bernie Mac" and the blistering, Oddisee-assisted "There They Go." Slick soulster Breezy Lovejoy adds his sly raps and smooth vocal turns to the mix, bringing his inerasable cool to the gritty grooves of "Bob James" and "Piece in the Glovebox" to help balance out the more laidback and sugary-sweet feel of SiR's "Easy" and T!FF's "Makes Me Crazy," respectively. Rising star ScHoolboy Q slides in briefly to deliver his prickly guest verse on pointed moving-on anthem "Love Me Not," while show conductors TiRon and Ayomari step back from their impressive verbal assaults long enough to give God thanks and close out a record that will hopefully take them one step closer to earning the recognition they deserve.
