A two-CD pre and post-clubbing chill-out ambient set put out on Moonshine Records and mixed by Steve Levy and Christian Dwiggins. The bulk of these tunes are blissed-out reinterpretations of hits of the '80s and '90s, such as INXS's "Never Tear Us Apart," Nicolette Larson's "Lotta Love" and Moby's "Go." There is an impressive and stellar line-up of track producers, like DJ Food, John Digweed, Crystal Method, Cirrus, Sabres of Paradise and Electric Skychurch, which ensures some level of quality is invested in this series. Among the more interesting tracks are Alex Gopher's "The Child," which samples vocals from Billie Holiday's "God Bless the Child," and Tall Paul's reworking of INXS, with a Badalamenti/ Twin Peaks-style contrabass line worked in. A bit on the mushy, lovey, kissy kissy side, but for those who dig that romantic stuff, this series is for you. What I like best about anything put out by Moonshine is their ultra-clean sound quality, particularly for mixed sets; their studios seem to give their music an extra polish.
