Following the March release of her BLOODMOON EP, KROY — the solo project of Milk & Bone's Camille Poliquin — has detailed her forthcoming sophomore album, previewed today by new single "SALTWATER."

MILITIA is due August 16 as the long-awaited follow-up to KROY's 2016 debut, SCAVENGER. Likewise, the songs on the record span ideas that sprouted in KROY's teenage years to dispatches from the dawn of her 30s.

The Max Ant-produced clangorous electropop banger "SALTWATER" is no exception, with the singer-songwriter having had it in the works for quite some time. "I had written it for someone else at first, but then got too attached and decided to keep it for myself," she explained in a press release.

"'SALTWATER' is a song about leaving them behind and moving forward with your battle scars," KROY continued. "It's a song about meeting someone so special you give everything you are to them, and are convinced you've found the person for you. Only to be completely deceived and betrayed. Blood, sweat, tears. It's just saltwater."

She added, "For this song we really wanted to mix both the vulnerable and the violent. The verses are very closed-mic'd and soft, and the choruses are sung as a group, and with a lot more power."

"SALTWATER" arrives alongside a music video directed by Gerardo Alcaine, which you'll find below along with the full album tracklist.
